  1. boil the sugar and water together in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves and the liquid is clear. set the syrup aside to cool.
  2. in a large pitcher or punch bowl, mix together the sugar syrup, wine, juices, and liquors.
  3. just before serving time, stir in the sparkling water. add the fruit slices and a lot of ice either to the sangria or to the individual glasses or cups.
  4. serve chilled.

A perfect combination for me - as I LOVE tequila and sangria! Made for a special evening meal with friends - we had to dodge the rain as we were outside, but this went down a bomb! Thanks for posting. NB: I used Grand Marnier instead of Triple Sec - and the lime juice was hard to find, so I used Rose's lime cordial, diluted to taste! Still divine though! FT:-)

Very excited to find this recipe! I went to Mexico in the 80's for my Senior Trip. That is where I was introduced to real Mexican Sangrias made with Red Wine, and Tequila. I have been looking for a recipe like this ever since. Thanks for sharing!!

I'm so happy to have found this recipe! I was looking for a sangria recipe that was not run-of-the-mill! This fits the bill! I like tequila and never thought of adding it to sangria, but it seems like a gimme now that I've had it! Can't wait to make this for get-togethers! Thank you for sharing! Cheers! :)
