Mexican Grilled Steak

"I got this recipe out of a small low calorie cookbook which I no longer have and don't remember the name of. This is a pretty simple recipe, that's low in calories and has good flavor. If you want you can add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to make this a spicy dish because otherwise it is not."

  • Cut both sides of the beef steaks with diamond patterns about 1/8-inch deep and places them in a shallow dish. Mix remaining ingredients together in a small bowl and pour over the beef. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours but no longer than 24 hours, turning the beef occasionally.
  • Heat the grill and put the steaks on. Cook for about 5 minutes per side and remove from heat. Cut the beef into thin slices across grain at a slanted angle and serve.

I love trying new dishes. For me, food is a way of experiencing the world without leaving my home, and I'm hoping that as my two sons get older that I can convince them to come with me on my culinary adventures.
